Salt Spring Island Public Transit Service

While there have been several attempts to establish a public bus service on Salt Spring Island in the past, all have failed. However, everything is in place for a public transit system to commence operation on Salt Spring Island on January 7 2008. Routes will include regular visits to Vesuvius and Fulford Harbour as well as Long Harbour. With the backing of the Capital Regional District Public Transit and Transportation Commission (PTTC) all signs are that this service will be permanent and ongoing. Exact fares and routes are still to be determined as is the service provider for the bus system.
