Lorne Elliott Returns to ArtSpring

Make no mistake — Lorne Elliott returns to Salt Spring Island with his side-splitting one-man show, The Collected Mistakes IV.

Appearing at ArtSpring for the third time, after two previously sold-out performances, Elliott presents his fast-paced evening of hilarity at 8:00pm on Wednesday, February 9 2005.

This quirky Canadian icon of comedy needs little introduction. As host of CBC Radio's Madly Off In All Directions, and national treasure of comedy & music theatre, Lorne Elliott is loved for his madcap, crazy, intellectual, and foolish satire.

With well-crafted talents, Elliott is renowned for his uplifting brand of original entertainment that goes straight for the funny bone. Ever changing, fast-paced and unrelenting, Elliott’s shows prove why he has the audiences coming back, year and year, night after night.

His work first caught the attention of CBC Radio, which aired one of his concert performances on "Definitely Not The Opera." It was greeted with such enthusiasm all across the country that it was rebroadcast on "Sunday Showcase" and "Morningside".

In 1996, he began starring in his own CBC Radio comedy series titled "Madly Off in all Directions". After eight seasons as the host, Lorne decided in 2003 to take a leave from the radio show.

Fast, foolish, and with lots of laughs, Canada’s enduring king of comedy performs at ArtSpring one night only, Wednesday, February 9 (8:00pm). Tickets are available for Lorne Elliott: The Collected Mistakes IV by calling the ArtSpring Ticket Centre at 537-2102 or emailing tickets@artspring.ca.

Officially opened in April 1999 by Robert Bateman, ArtSpring is an 11,800 sq. ft., two-level, heavy timber structure boasting a 5,200 sq. ft. exhibition/multi-purpose area and a 6,600 sq. ft, 259-seat theatre. ArtSpring is the centre of cultural events on Salt Spring Island and is the only professional year-round presenter of concerts and other events.
