Music and Munch

September 2003 - May 2004 Programme

Music Makers at Music and Munch
Music and Munch takes place at All Saints Church by-the-Sea, 110 Park Drive in Ganges. Patrons should note that Music and Munch continues throughout the fall, winter and spring months at 12:10 pm on the first Wednesday of the month.

Except for the first Wednesday of the month, Simply Organic will take place at 10:10 am. There will not be a performance on January 7th 2004, but we hope that it will continue from January 14th onwards to May 2004, but that is not yet confirmed.

“Simply Organic” Returns!

Now that the popular recital series Music and Munch has moved into its monthly calendar of performances on the first Wednesday of every month, the Anglican Parish's Music Makers, hails the return of "Simply Organic".

The delightful and very successful series of organ recitals which began last November will continue through the Fall with the same format as last year.

Beginning on September 10th, Barry Valentine will play an informal half hour or so of well known music for the organ, at All Saints' church, home of the only pipe organ on the island. His famous brand of dry wit combined with his anecdotes and versatile musicianship, have earned him a loyal and appreciative following. Part of the fun and challenge is that audience members are encouraged to submit requests their for favourite music for the organ, which are woven into the programming and this provides a marvelous opportunity for the creative process to be a joint venture.

On Nov.12th, Music Makers was delighted to be able to announce the anniversary of "Simply Organic". The first recital of the series last year was exciting in that 40 people arrived, giving us the confidence to continue with the format as originally conceived. During the year we have maintained a high average of audience members, who by their requests, enjoy being part of the creative process. Our special thanks go to Barry Valentine, who has provided us with a fabulous variety of music, with very few repeats and with opportunity to expand our musical knowledge and appreciation.

The free recital of music that is "Simply Organic" begins at 10:10 am every Wednesday except the first Wednesday of the month, and is followed by the opportunity to enjoy a freshly baked muffin and coffee for only $2.00. On the first Wednesday of the month, Music and Munch will take its place beginning at 12:10 pm followed by lunch.
