Thomas Evdokimoff

One of the most remarkable features of the Music and Munch recital series, is the unreserved warmth offered by audiences to both regular well known performers and to new-comers. The featured guest on Wednesday June 18th is in some sense both of these!

Classical guitarist Thomas Evdokimoff, has been playing for Music and Munch for the past five or six years, as a member of the duo Kuroshio and as a special guest at the charming parish presentation, 'Dances and Delights' in 2000. Wednesday's Music and Munch offers the opportunity to hear this superb musician, for the first time in an extraordinarily beautiful solo recital.

Evdokimoff is a Vancouver based free-lance classical guitarist and music teacher, who holds an M.A. from the University of British Columbia in music theory. He has studied guitar with many prominent musicians including, in Vancouver, Alan Rinehart and Michael Strutt. He is on the faculty of the Delta Community Music School and the Vancouver Academy of Music.

The contained discipline and control of his playing, enables an exquisitely sensitive and subtle rendering of all that he undertakes to play, while at the same time invoking a seemingly effortless freedom. Enhanced by the lovely acoustics of All Saints' Church, this is a recital that music lovers will not want to miss.

Free music begins at l2.l0pm followed by a delicious, optional lunch for $5.50.
