Debbi Toole

On October 1st, Music and Munch continues its monthly series, with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the warm and vibrant voice of soprano Debbi Toole in her second recital in this venue.

No stranger to the Salt Spring stage, Debbi Toole has delighted audiences not only with her first love, singing, but also with her skills of hosting and acting.

She has given recitals in Victoria and Salt Spring, sung with the Pacific Opera Company and has continued to study voice throughout that time. Her most recent teacher is Victoria's Susan Young with whom she is substantially expanding her repertoire, while her expertise and skills are passed on to her own students in her studio at St. Mary Lake.

Accompanist on this occasion is pianist Paul Verville. Having been trained primarily at the University of Alberta, he has continued to hone his skills on Salt Spring for the past five years. Islanders will know him as an accomplished teacher, soloist, recording artist and accompanist, including for a time, accompanist to the Salt Spring Singers.

Wednesday’s recital will feature songs by Handel, Vivaldi, Saint Saens and Schubert with piano solo works by Chopin and Beethoven.

Free music begins at 12:10pm at All Saints’ Church, followed by a delicious optional lunch for $5.50.
